The right to self-defense and self-preservation is a God given right protected by the Constitution of the United States of America. In this current debate on gun ownership and the Second Amendment, it is grossly obvious that most people do not understand that this is the right and responsibility of every individual. So many people still believe that government and police are here and responsible to protect each and every individual. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is a great deception.

In an Article from the New York Times “Justices Rule Police Do Not Have a Constitutional Duty To Protect Someone” It is made abundantly clear that self-defense the sole responsibility of each individual. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/06/28/politics/28scotus.html?_r=0

Another horrifying example of this is a more recent case that occurred on a New York City Subway in full view of two uniformed NYPD Police Officers just feet away. You can hear this story in Joe Lozito’s own words here, you will be shocked!

So now that you understand the responsibility is all yours, you need to start training to gain the skills that will allow you to protect yourself, those that you love and your American brothers and sisters. Owning a weapon does not offer protection unless you are intimately familiar with that particular weapon system and any accessories it may have. If you own a tactical rifle and a defensive handgun, you owe it to yourself to know how to use them effectively.

Training on a flat range where you must shoot from a static position or bench does not prepare you for a real life confrontation. Our programs offer real life scenarios on our 360 degree, live-fire range, where students learn to engage multiple targets and transition from your primary weapon system (your rifle) to your secondary weapon (handgun), drawing it from your holster and while using cover. Our instructors will have you increasing your speed and accuracy with every shot. Shooting on the move, magazine changes and scenario-based training will be the highlight of these exciting courses. If you own the hardware, you deserve to have the confidence and skills to use those tools.

There are many tools available to assist you in protecting yourself and those around you. Having the ability to think outside the box and to improvise with what you have, will do more to protect you than any specific piece of gear. Whether using “hand to gland,” stick fighting, Kubaton, knife, tomahawk, spear, or any other object available, you must learn and practice the art of fighting and develop a “survival mindset”.

SPIKE Training offers programs in firearms, pepper spray, krav maga, edged weapons, Simunitions, live-fire, and so much more. However developing a winning mindset may be the most important aspect of preparing yourself for a fight. All of our programs incorporate the mental, physical and hands on manipulations aspects of training. Our instructor staff is made up of subject matter experts and self-defense professionals with years of real world and competitive experiences. Additionally we will look at the moral and legal side of self-defense and how it pertains to you in your daily life.

Building muscle memory will allow your continued effectiveness when your heart rate jumps up and your fine motor skills are lost. Inducing stress in our more advanced courses prepares our students for the real world situations. We can offer use of simunitions in force on force training, dynamic entry and room clearing in a live shoot-house wired for sound and video.

We will be bringing you articles, tips and tricks here to keep you safe and assist you in your search for the best Self-Defense. SPIKE will present training and conditioning techniques available from the top experts and experienced warriors with real world experiences. Now then, pray for the best and prepare for the worst that life has to offer you. Course announcements will be coming soon.
